Check-in safety, done properly

If you go quiet, the people you chose get told.

Set a check-in schedule. Miss it, and Safe Check-In escalates calmly and in order: a reminder, a push, an SMS, then a call to your people. A safety net for when you are solo, isolated, or working alone.

Push, SMS, then a call You pick who, and when Runs on a real stack

This is a check-in and alerting tool, not a replacement for emergency services. In an emergency, always call 000.

Live demo Simulated. Nothing is sent.
All good. You are checked in. Counting down to your next check-in.

Try it: let the timer run down, or press "simulate a missed check-in". In real life this can run over minutes or hours, on a schedule you set.

How it works

Three simple parts. One quiet promise.

You stay in control the whole way. Nobody is bothered while you are checking in. The escalation only ever runs if you go quiet.

You set a schedule

Daily, before a solo trip, across a night shift, or a custom interval. You choose your contacts and the order they are reached.

You check in

A tap on your phone says you are ok. While you check in on time, nothing happens and nobody is contacted.

If you go quiet, it escalates

A reminder to you first, then push, SMS and a call to your people, and optionally the documents you arranged. Calmly, and in order.

See the full escalation ladder and the stack it runs on.

Two ways people use it

Same safety net. For a person, or for a team.

For you, or someone you love

A quiet safety net

For anyone who is isolated, doing something solo, or who just wants someone told if they go quiet. It is about peace of mind and keeping your independence, not being watched.

  • Living alone, or far from family
  • A solo hike, drive, dive or trip
  • A first date, or feeling unsafe
  • Release the docs only if you go quiet
Set up a personal check-in

Not a replacement for emergency services. In an emergency, call 000.

For lone and remote workers

Help meet your WHS duty

The same technology for staff who work alone or in isolation: scheduled check-ins, missed-check-in escalation, duress and man-down, an employer view and a monitored plan. Reliable, recurring, and built around duty of care.

  • Scheduled and shift-based check-ins
  • Duress and man-down escalation
  • An employer view of who is checked in
  • A monitored plan on a stack you can rely on

Helps you manage risks to remote and isolated workers. We are not a certification body or a monitoring centre.

Runs on a real stack

Not another app that can quietly die.

Most check-in apps live and die on one phone, with one battery, in one app store. Safe Check-In runs on a real, self-hosted alerting stack on our own server, the same infrastructure already sending live contact-sensor phone alerts today.

n8n automation

The escalation logic runs as a real workflow in n8n, so a missed check-in always steps through push, SMS and call in order, every time.

ntfy push

Phone alerts go out through self-hosted ntfy, the same open push service we already use for live alerts, not a third-party we cannot see.

LoRa long-range sensors

Optional physical check-ins use LoRa and LoRaWAN long-range sensors, the same kit running our door alerts, for places phones and wifi do not reach.

A real person at Alien IT Solutions sets it up and keeps it running, so it stays trustworthy instead of becoming one more app you forgot you had.

Privacy by design

It tells your people, not the world.

You decide who is contacted, in what order, and what they get to see.

You choose your people

Your contacts and the order they are reached are yours to set and change. No public profile, no broadcast.

The docs stay sealed

Any information you pre-arrange is held for your contacts and only released if you go quiet, on the terms you set.

Run on our own server

It lives on Alien IT Solutions' own self-hosted stack here in Australia, not handed off to a faceless consumer app.

Questions people ask.

Is this a replacement for calling 000?

No. Safe Check-In is a check-in and alerting tool, not an emergency service. In an emergency, always call 000. What it does is make sure the people you chose are told if you go quiet, calmly and in order, so someone knows to check on you.

What happens if I just forget to check in?

You get a gentle reminder first, before anyone else is contacted. If you check in then, the timer simply resets and nobody is bothered. The escalation only continues if you stay quiet.

Who gets contacted, and how?

Whoever you choose, in the order you set. Safe Check-In sends a push notification, then an SMS, then an automated phone call. It can also release information you arranged in advance, but only if you go quiet.

Can I use this for staff who work alone?

Yes. The same system supports lone and remote workers with scheduled check-ins, duress and man-down, and an employer view. It helps a business meet its duty to manage risks to remote and isolated workers under the model WHS Regulations (regulation 48). See the business page.

What does it actually run on?

A real, self-hosted alerting stack on Alien IT Solutions' own server: n8n automation, ntfy push and LoRa and LoRaWAN long-range sensors, the same infrastructure already running live contact-sensor phone alerts. That is more reliable than a single app that can quietly stop working.

What does it cost?

It depends on how you want it set up and whether it is for one person or a team, so we quote per situation rather than guess. Tell us what you need and we will come back with a clear plan and price.

Set up your check-in.

Tell us who should be told, and when. We will set it up on the real stack and walk you through it, with no jargon and no pressure.
